An arrow for our quiver

Many of you are already aware of our "big news", but I thought I should make an official

on my blog... so here it is:

We are expecting another baby!!!

Although I have not been to see my midwife yet, I believe I am about 5 1/2 weeks along, and due sometime next April. We would REALLY appreciate your prayers for a healthy pregnancy!

We couldn't be more excited that God would bless us with another
"arrow in our quiver".

We get the question a lot (as all couples do, I'm sure): "So, how many children do you plan to have?" Our answer to that question is: as many as God sees fit to bless us with! Sure, we could try to put a number on it and make our own plans, but let's face it: our plans NEVER work out, and God's plans are always SO MUCH BETTER! So, we are leaving that up to Him.

Children are an incredible blessing from the Lord! The Bible depicts children as "arrows in the hand of a mighty man". Picture that... as Christians we are in the Lord's army, fighting a battle in this increasingly dark world; and God wants to give us "arrows" for battle... to aim, and send out for His cause. Whenever we look at God as say, "Well, I'll take one... MAYBE two... actually, not sure if I really need any at all!" God must think, "Wow, these guys really DON'T get the concept of preparing for battle!" :0)

God's ways are so different than those of our world... OPPOSITE, in fact! His ways are so much higher, and sometimes, so hard for our minds to comprehend. Thank God He gave us a "road map" to follow! (i.e. the Bible) He wants GOOD things for His children, and He is right there to guide us all the way!

If God chooses to never bless us with another child, He will still be a GREAT GOD, but it is our prayer that He gives us a "quiver full"!

Psalm 127
"Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep. Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate."
