About Me

Hello ~ I am so glad you are here!

My name is Brittney Mofley. I am 25 years old, and have been married to my husband Nick for over 4 years. Nick and I grew up together-our families have known each other since before we were born. I can't say it was always clear that we would end up together :) but, I'm so glad we let God write our love story and we waited for His perfect timing. It was well worth it!

Here we are with our black lab "Maverick"

I can honestly say that Nick is my best friend. I love being married to him and I appreciate his character so much. Being the provider and spiritual leader for our family is important to Him and I feel so blessed to have a husband with that vision. Trying to "take control" in our marriage is TOTALLY my personality! :) But, through books like "Created to Be His Help Meet" by Debbi Pearl, God is teaching me to step back and LET Nick assume that role which God intended for him... and let me tell ya- life is SO much better when you just surrender to God's plan for your marriage!

God has blessed us with a son, Benjamin, who turned a year old in May 2010.

Benjamin had a "Tigger" themed birthday party on his birthday May 1st

Before Benjamin was born, we lost 3 babies. It was a very difficult time for us. So, when our little bundle of joy arrived and we finally got to hold one of our precious babies, we were ecstatic and SO grateful! Ben is 2 now, and we had a precious baby girl on April 15th, 2011. We are just basking in His goodness these days...

Being a keeper at home is a strong conviction for me- and Ben & Addy keeps me plenty busy! Being a mother is every bit as wonderful as I thought it would be. It does, however, require self-sacrifice; a trait God is continually helping me with! :) Being Benjamin & Adalynn's "mama" is teaching me so much about myself. It is amazing how throughout the different stages of our lives, God is still the same! He is constant, and unwavering, and His grace is sufficient!

Me & my younger sister Courtney were homeschooled growing up. God has blessed me with some truly amazing parents- I love them so much! They showed us the importance of having our own REAL relationship with Christ. And for that, I am eternally grateful.

I understand the biblical roles of a man and a woman, because of my mom and dad's examples. My soul is so satisfied when I'm working in the capacity which God intended for me. I feel so blessed. Not because I am anything great. But, because He is great and He has great plans for us when we just surrender to His will.

If you read my blog for any length of time, you will probably discover that I have what some might call "different" beliefs about many things. But, above all, I believe in "Sola Scriptura". It is my goal to use Christ and the Word of God as my measuring stick at all times. I want Him to receive the glory for everything in my life. I cannot give the praise to men, only to God. If there is anything good in me, it's because of Him.

What our family is up to these days:

Getting ready for Spring Woodlands Church VBS 2011!!!!

Ministry Opportunities - Over the past couple of years, God has really convicted Nick and I, and given us a heart to be more involved in helping the poor and needy. In November 2009, we began sponsering a little boy in Tanzania through the Compassion International program, and it's been such a neat experience to be apart of his life so far. God also opened a door for me to be involved with a group of young ladies over this past spring and summer. These girls (ages 11-17) come from very abusive and difficult circumstances, and after being removed from their parent's custody, they are placed in a residential treatment center. Each week, we met with them for Bible study, life skills classes and misc. crafts and recreation. Being able to minister to them each week was a tremendous experience for me.

*please continue to pray for these young ladies and that when the time is right, we might be able to minister to them again*

The blessing that comes with helping someone in need is extraordinary and cannot be matched. We are commanded to do so in Scripture, and believe me, God DOES repay you in ways you cannot imagine! It seems that the more Nick and I are involved in helping others, the more we want to do. It's kind of "infectious", the awesome feeling you get when you feel like you are making a difference!

Thank you so much for stopping by!!!

Blessings,
Brittney
